Water flow restrictor?

Hello, could you please tell me where is the water flow restrictor is located..
I would like a free flowing shower head. This 2.5 gpm doesn't let this fine unit live up to it's potential. What's the best way to get rid of the flow restrictor? Should I just drill the inlet hole out to get more water into the head? Please Help!!
Thank you,
Mike D
Hi Mike,
Thank you for your question. Flow restrictors are usually found in the neck or threaded end of the shower head exposed when the shower head is removed from the shower arm.

While it is possible to remove flow restrictors from shower heads, we strongly advise against it for several reasons. Flow restrictors for faucets are an integral part of most shower heads and it is generally not possible or desirable to remove them.

For water conservation purposes, most plumbing codes require faucets and showering devices to not exceed a certain maximum flow rate. Removing the flow restrictors could cause these devices to no longer meet these codes.
Altering the shower head will also void the product warranty.
Thanks,
Dave

How is the flow rate controlled?

Is there a flow restrictor within the shower head? Could this be removed? I live in a unit with low water pressure, so what's coming through is less than the 1.5 GPM.

can you convert to a temp. control separate from volume like the rp32104

Hi Drew, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the model P18770-BN is not able to use the RP32104 cartridge to convert the unit to separate temperature and volume control. The unit only controls water temperature.
Thanks,
Dave

What size hole required for this faucet

Hi Gary,
Thank you for your question. The recommended hole size for the model P188624LF is 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" diameter. Here is a link to the spec sheet showing this and other faucet dimensions.

Can the water pressure be adjusted?

When you turn on the water, is the pressure (volume) always the same, or can you adjust it so it is not coming out hard?
Hi Zoey,
Thank you for your question. The model P18760-BN offers control only on the water temperature. The water temperature goes from cold to hot as the handle is rotated. The water volume is either on or off, there is no controlling the rate of flow.

Dave

how to adjust the water flow to spray

Hi Cindy, Thank you for your question. To change the flow patterns on the model 76571WH shower head you just have to grab the tab on the spray face and move it around the spray face to select the desired spray setting.

What is the difference between the P110LF and the P110LF-W?

Hi tomatobreath, Thank you for your question. There is no difference in the model P110LF and P110LF-W faucets. The P110LF-W is packaged differently for the retailer that sells the product.
Thanks,
Dave
